“Don’t underestimate the power of your vision to change the world. Whether that world is your office, your community, an industry or a global movement, you need to have a core belief that what you contribute can fundamentally change the paradigm or way of thinking about problems.”Leroy Hood
Believe it or not, the days of hating your J-O-B are over. We’re entering into a new era of entrepreneurship and leadership ignited to change the world for the better.
A purpose-driven work-life. It wasn’t too long ago that this concept was not discussed in the mainstream. That has changed. Now, this idea has evolved where embracing your career as a means to make the world better is of utmost importance for many.
According to Business.com, “Aren’t we all interested in creating a purpose-driven work life? More and more, we want to feel a sense that our work matters, not just to us and our bank accounts, but to the world at large” (Steele).
Sound like a lofty goal? Well, when you break it down and strategize the right way, it’s not only doable, it will grow your business for the better, have a lasting impact on society as a whole and make you happier and healthier in the process.
Today, there are more coaches, speakers, authors, non-profits and small business owners that want to impact the world in a positive way. Are you one of them?
Here are the top 5 emerging purpose-led careers:
- Health and fitness coaches
- Life coaches
- Spiritual coaches
- Business coaches
Purpose-led careers are emerging and now, more than ever, they need to be supported. This will influence others to do the same and leave their unfulfilling careers for a new purpose-led path. These emerging new careers mentor and encourage the world to become balanced once again.
Society, as we know it now, is still controlled by corporations. Centuries ago, our environment was filled with puffy white clouds, non-toxic water, everything was non-GMO organic, pasture-raised, and free-range. There are people all around the world who want to go back to that. They want it so bad they are leaving their corporate jobs to change it.
Take the story of Charity Water’s founder, Scott Harrison, who left his high-income jobs to make the world a better place by providing clean water to every person living without it.
Like, Scott, people are beginning to understand what their purpose is in life. It’s not about how much money can be earned but the impact and difference they can make. I know personally, that is what has happened for me.
Coaching Institutes such as The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and Health Coach Institute are saying health coaching is the new career of modern day times. They influence others to exercise the mind, body, and spirit. Their career approach is to help others live better, happier lives, which in turn, helps the world become a better place.
The problem is coaches, non-profits, and the like (aka people who want to change the world) are not marketing experts. They take courses on how to market themselves, how to get more clients, and how to have a big presence in the world, but most of them fail at their marketing which leaves them broke and discouraged. This forces them to go out and find ordinary jobs that are less fulfilling because they have bills to pay. This isn’t right.
To live a purpose-led life means to do whatever it takes to succeed. Succeeding does not need to mean financially, but shifting others to change is definitely succeeding. Through shifting and moving others will create a ripple effect and doing what you love will reward you financially in the end.
Steele states, “If all else fails (or maybe even as a first resort, depending on your tolerance for risk), start something new. Launching your own organization not only allows you to do things your way from a business standpoint, but it gives you a chance to create a purpose-driven culture from scratch.”
If you’re not living a purpose-led life, what are you waiting for? The resources are out there for you to take your life back and live it the way you want to. It happened for me!
